Lukas Machnik is the founder and lead designer of LUKAS MACHNIK DESIGN, the interior design firm he established in Chicago in 2005. In 2018 a new Design Studio was developed in East Hampton and NYC. Machnik is known for his signature avant-garde minimalist style which sets him apart from other designers and allures high-end residential and commercial clients throughout the nation and abroad.

In addition to interior design, Machnik occupies such roles as artist, curator, interior architect, object designer, and television personality – with a complex practice that spans media. Using minimalism as an aesthetic reference point, Machnik moves beyond the traditionalist ideology of interior design and approaches projects with a curatorial sensibility. Whether working on a single room, a whole home or an entire building he considers every element as part of the experience of the whole.

In 2014 Machnik also released MONUMENT, a collection of minimalist plywood furniture. Additionally Machnik has a lighting collection, Parts of Four Home, and collaborated with high-end tile manufacturer Exquisite Surfaces.

Machnik’s work has been featured in numerous national and international publications including Vogue, Harper’s BAZAAR, Blouin Art and Auction, As If, Architectural Digest, NEUE LUXURY, Elle Decor, Dwell, Hamptons’s Cottages & Gardens, Hamptons Magazine, and Better Homes & Gardens.
